The Story

10 Things I Love About You stars Cameron Fontana and Katie Christian in a story for every guy who’s ever tried.. every girl who’s ever hoped… and anyone who has ever been taken completely by surprise.

Cameron and Katie met while attending Valor Christian College. For the first year, they weren’t really friends, just acquaintances through mutual buddies. Katie was a member of the dance team and Cameron was a guitarist on the band. In 2006, the college scheduled an S.O.S. trip to North Carolina, bringing along the dance team and band. Through a series of unexpected events, Cameron and Katie were forced to sit next to each other on the 12 hour bus ride. At first, they were annoyed, but knew they had to make the best of it. After chatting, they found out they had the same musical taste, and shared iPods. They also had some anger in common with the broken bus speaker and detoured road trip. So during the trip, they became friends, and occasionally would hang out later on.

Fast forward a year to another college trip to Baltimore. Cameron and Katie WILLINGLY decided to sit next to each other for the ride. But this time there were no annoyances, just a growing realization that they began to like each other. After the trip, they had some “complications” towards dating each other. With both of their schedules being hectic and because of their leadership positions, some third party drama arose. Under pressure, Cameron stood her up to a spring formal.

After some time and a slow recovery, Cameron finally realized that he did not care about anything else, so he called Katie late at night, told her how he felt, and asked her if she would date him. She said yes, and soon after, they went on their first date to China House.

Their relationship grew over the next 2 1/2 years, meeting each other’s family, and spending time with their friends together. They had more and more in common, and realized they were meant for each other. Cameron knew she was the one, so he took the first step towards their life together… looking for the ring.
